Hello! I am so excited to be apart of CORCRC and help bring the organization to the Colorado Western Slope, a place that could definitely use the resources that CORCRC provides!

I’m a student at Colorado Mesa University, majoring in Communications while also doing a minor in Political Science. I’ve been working in the non-profit sector since high school. I publish a monthly newsletter for Shimmer Sparkle Shine, a non-profit that, works with young girls and pre-teens to educate them on the importance of self-worth and feeling comfortable in their own skin. I am also the vice president of the newly formed AAUW (American Association of University Women) CMU branch, which I like to think is the next step above Shimmer Sparkle Shine, working to help empower women in their careers and communities.

This past summer I had the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. with CMU for the Colorado Capital Conference. This visit happened to correlate with the first draft of the Republicans new health care bill that was to replace the Affordable Care Act. Being in D.C. that week and in the Senate building at the time the draft was released to the public had its own special whirlwind of excitement and was fustrating as well. This experience made me want to help and make a bigger (healthier) impact on lives than the one I felt like I was making.

Now being apart of CORCRC, I hope to do just that.
