Religious Freedom, Religious Refusals: Patients’ Rights in Catholic Healthcare Facilities – May 31, 2018

Town Hall meeting.  All invited.  The First Amendment promises both the freedom of and freedom from religion. But as faith plays an increasingly prominent role in American politics, preserving the boundary between religion and government is more vital (and challenging) than ever. Join us for a town hall exploring the use and misuse of religious liberty in contemporary public life, featuring a discussion of the issues at stake in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission and state-level efforts to use religious freedom as a license to discriminate, especially against LGBTQI members of our community. Presenters: Laura 'Pinky' Reinsch, One Colorado Lizzy Hinkley, ACLU Colorado Katy Joseph, Catholics for Choice Light refreshments provided.
