This day of learning will be on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Location: Temple Emanuel, 51 Grape St., Denver, 80220
The cost is $30, which includes lunch, a manual, and other handouts. Scholarships are available upon request.
The facilitators are Kathryn Johnson, the national Program Director of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, and The Rev. Jann Halloran, chair of Colorado’s RCRC Counseling Committee and minister of Prairie Unitarian Universalist Church, Parker.
We will reflect on theological, pastoral and practical issues related to reproductive justice. The day will include ways to express your commitment to women’s rights and reproductive justice issues with members of your congregation and in public advocacy.
Attendees will be trained in “All-Options Counseling” and may join our RCRC Counseling Service, which connects people in crisis with a clergy person closest to their faith so that they may anonymously discuss their concerns from a faith-based perspective.
CORCRC embraces the full range of Reproductive Justice, which is the complete physical, mental, spiritual, political, social and economic well being of women and girls, based on the full achievement and protection of women’s human rights. These issues include:
* the right to be free from violence,
* the freedom to have healthy families as defined by each person regardless of gender or sexual preference,
* the rights of children to have their full needs met,
* and the rights of women to have their own ethical agency when making reproductive decisions that affect their bodies, lives and families.
Please note: registration ends Jan. 15th.
